Instant Socket Interface
The Socket Magic program facilitates transfers of records between an AS/400 and another computer on your company's Intranet or the Internet. The program utilizes TCP/IP and Sockets API thereby enabling record transfers for almost all networked computers. TCP/IP is a universally implemented communications protocol (an agreed upon language for communicating). Sockets are analogous to telephones and phone numbers, and enable two computer processes to talk to each other. Install Socket Magic as you would any other program/utility. You then eatablish an interface record thru the included interface program. You can establish as many interface records as you need for both the Client ( the computer sending records), and the Server (the computer that receives and stores the records) programs. Once the program is installed and an Interface is created, records will automatically be transferred between a Client and a Server. |
